THE DOUBLE BASS by Patrick Süskind
New End Theatre, London 2011

Translated by Michael Hofmann

The Noontide Sun presents Christopher Hunter as the orchestral musician in The Double Bass – a one man play by Patrick Süskind, award winning writer of Perfume.

Comic and tragic, it is the compelling story of a musician in crisis.  Deciding to take control of his chaotic life he is forced to consider a choice between his two loves, and the play brilliantly invites us to share his tortured journey.

Tonight, he plays in the gala opening of Wagner’s ‘Rheingold’.

Will a daring act of ruthlessness change his life forever?
